Cheer Squad
About the
Cheer Squad
The Cheer Squad
will consist of up to 10 females and up to 10 males. The Cheer Squad will
cheer at all home football games and all men’s and women’s basketball home
games. Squad members will also attend all home volleyball matches. Travel
for the squad is minimal. Cheerleaders and Yell leaders will travel to
selected football games, conference playoff games, and any bowl games. They
will also travel to selected men and women’s basketball games including
conference playoffs and the NJCAA national tournament.
Practices
Practices are held
four times a week. Practice times will be set by the coaches and are
mandatory. Squad members are also required maintain a proper level of
fitness by participating in aerobic and weight workouts outside of scheduled
practice times.
The Cheer Squad
will have mandatory practices during the summer and will attend a Collegiate
Cheer Camp in late July and early August.
Scholarship Opportunities
Squad members will
receive a loan of books and tuition scholarship. The tuition scholarship
will cover up to 18 hours of tuition. Out of state squad members will
receive the equivalent of in-state tuition and have to pay the difference in
in-state and out of state tuition rates. Squad members must maintain a 2.0
GPA and be enrolled in 12 credit hours to receive the scholarship. All
squad members will be responsible for any fees and residential life
expenses. |
