Responsibilities: |
Dodge City Community College is seeking a full-time Electrical Transmission Systems Technician Program Instructor. Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Innovation & Workforce Development, the Instructor of the Electrical Transmission Systems Technician Program will engage in a variety of learning support and instructional practices; advising and mentoring students; identifying and implementing assessment measures to achieve course, program and college learning outcomes. The Instructor will be required to teach Electrical Transmissions Systems Technician courses including field experience and labs. Responsible for leading and directing students toward their goal of satisfactory completion of the Electrical Transmission Systems Technician certificate or Associate of Applied Science degree and subsequent gainful employment in the field. |

Required qualifications: |
Bachelor’s degree in technical area and/or appropriate certification and work related experience; must have the knowledge and skills in the construction, operation and maintenance of electrical power lines, stations, and equipment, must have a good working knowledge and skills with the set up and safe operation of hydraulic equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derrick trucks, backhoes, trenchers, puller, tensioners, and other line related equipment, must be knowledgeable in rigging practices for lifting loads, working knowledge of OSHA and NESC rules and regulations plus the standard work practice unique to electrical power utilities, proven ability to work with diverse populations including traditional and non-traditional students; ability to demonstrate excellent people skills and oral and written communication skills; ability to work with groups, organizations, and institution; computer skills and ability to use technology in the classroom; and must maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license. |

Preferred qualifications: |
Master’s degree in technical area, bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish); hold related technical certifications; and hold memberships in professional technical organizations. Full-time work experience in electrical power in the construction, operation and maintenance structures, equipment and facilities. |
