Title: Assistant Baseball Coach


Responsibilities:

Assist head baseball coach with all aspects of the program including but not limited to team travel, recruiting student athletes (school visits, campus visits and scouting games), advising student athletes, maintaining facility, and teaching the fundamentals of pitching, hitting, and defense.  Also responsible for Football Game Day Concessions:  Inventory control, work schedules, cash box and event setup. 

Primary Responsibilities-

  • To understand and commit to the Mission of the College  ~  To provide challenging and diverse opportunities for the pursuit of learning and to enhance personal and community development in a responsible, accessible and  learner-centered environment.
  • Assist the head baseball coach with all aspects of the program including but not limited to team travel, recruiting student athletes (school visits, campus visits and scouting games), advising and monitoring academic progress of student-athletes maintaining facility, and teaching the fundamentals of pitching, hitting, and defense, coordinating the strength and conditioning program for student-athletes, participation in fund raising activities, and any other duties assigned by Head Coach or Athletic Administration.
  • Recruiting:   Assist the admissions office in recruiting prospective students. During high school visits with athletes there will be an effort to visit all prospective students to provide information about the college and the programs offered.
  • Football Game Day Concessions:  Supervise and oversee all aspects of setup/close for concessions:  Inventory control, schedule workers, control all cash and funds, etc.

 

                   Required qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree. 
  • Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work well with computer 
  • Must be a confident public speaker, and communicate well with athletes, parents, and coaches. 
  • Must maintain a valid Kansas drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications -
  • Pitching Coach Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Coached or played at Junior College level.

Coaching Positions


Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer


Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of the athletic training program for the care of, and prevention of, injuries to student athletes. (baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, dance, football, golf, rodeo, softball, track, volleyball and soccer).

Primary Responsibilities-

  • To understand and commit to the Mission of the College~To provide challenging and diverse opportunities for the pursuit of learning and to enhance personal and community development in a responsible, accessible and learner-centered environment.
  • Provide care for injured student athletes on campus and at competitions off campus
  • Provide information to student athletes on prevention of injuries
  • Supervise the training room including supplying and equipping it
  • Supervise and recruit student trainers; serve as academic advisor to Athletic Training majors
  • Monitor and file athletic insurance claims; maintain records of athletic injuries
  • Schedule team doctors for home athletic events
  • Prepare and submit the athletic budget request

                   Required qualifications
  • BS degree in Sports Medicine, Athletic Training or related area
  • Experience as an athletic trainer with a variety of sports
  • Ability to work cooperatively with student athletes, faculty and college staff
  • Demonstrable skills in covering ideas in clear, grammatically correct form both in writing     and orally
  • National Athletic Trainer Association Certification, or ability to achieve this certification    within one year
  • CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to achieve these certifications within 30 days of  employment
  • Licensed by the State of Kansas, or ability to achieve this license within six month
  • Must maintain a valid Kansas drivers license
