ESL Classes
English-as-a-Second Language
(ESL) classes are available for those who want to gain more reading
and listening skills if English is not their first language. Class
sessions begin with an information session, oral interview, and
reading and listening tests to determine the students skill level
and to maximize learning. Instructors meet with students
individually throughout the session to be sure goals are being met
and progress is made.
The ALC offers three levels of
class each session. The ALC offers ESL classes throughout the year
with class sign up in July, December, and March. Classes are
approximately 10-12 weeks long and meet two hours a day Monday thru
Thursday. Both day and evening classes are available.
Students must be present at the
first class session to enroll and should be available for all class
meetings. Instructors provide intensive instruction designed to
help the student gain English competencies.
