Athletic Training Curriculum
Our students get
the opportunity to work with all varsity sports, learn from our
doctors and staff, and physical therapists. Our goal is to expose
the student to a variety of sports, injuries, the comprehensive
rehabilitation process, and educating him or her on preventive care
and medicine. If the individual decides to continue his or her
education at a four year university, the foundation to more in depth
study is present.
Students interested in majoring in
athletic training, kinesiology, pre-physical therapy, or physical
education are recommended to complete an Associates of Science, or
Associate of Arts degree. These career opportunities require the
individual student to obtain a four year degree.
Below
are lists of the required coursework for the Associate of Science
and Arts degrees. A comprehensive list of suggested elective
coursework is beneath the required coursework. Not all classes are
offered in all semesters. It is recommended for the student to
enroll in 12-16 credit hours per semester. Students must complete a
minimum of 62 credit hours with a minimum 2.0 G.P.A. to receive the
degree.
