Season Outlook
The 2011-2012 Dodge City Community College men’s basketball team looks
to be an exciting and very athletic team to watch. The Conquistadors
will look to improve upon a 19-12 record last season. With only two
returning players from last year’s team, fans will see a lot of new and
exciting players.
The returning players are 2010-2011 All-Region VI selection Tyshon
Pickett and Dylan Shalberg. Pickett (Passaic, NJ) was the second leading
scorer for Dodge City with 13.0 ppg and led the team with 8.0 rpg as a
freshman. Shalberg (Lakin, KS) is the kind of player that will do
anything for his team to win and he never lets a day go by that he
doesn’t get better.
The new players are all keys to the success of the team. The team will
be fast, quick and athletic. With so many new faces on the team it will
be key that the team learns to mesh early together. Unselfishness, hard
work, and commitment everyday will be what the coaching staff is looking
for out of every player on a daily basis.
