With the wind blowing straight in from right field this weekend, runs were hard to come by for both teams in the 4 game series at Pratt. On Saturday, The Conq baseball team used good pitching and timely hitting to sweep the doubleheader, winning both games by a score of 5-4. On Sunday, pitching continued to dominate with both games again being close low scoring affairs. In game 1, DC led for most of the game, but Pratt was able to score a single run in the bottom of the 6th and 7th to steal the 2-1 victory. Dodge took the early lead in game 2, scoring a run in the 1st inning for a 1-0 lead, but again Pratt found a way to scratch 2 runs across and held the DC hitters at bay for the final 8 innings to win 2-1. The series split drops DC to 5-15 overall and 2-10 in the Jayhawk West. The Conqs will open up their Region VI play when Brown Mackie comes to town on Wednesday. Doubleheader is set to start at 4:05 pm.
