Sophomore Forward Sharice Papaleo has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her basketball career at Oklahoma Panhandle St. University. OPSU is a NCAA Division II school and is a member of the Heartland Conference. OPSU Head Coach Brad Vanden Boogaard is very excited to have Sharice join their program, "I feel she can come in and make an impact in our program. Her ability to rebound on both ends of the floor and run the floor in offensive transition is where I see her helping us the most. Throughout the season I kept seeing improvements in her game and I look forward to building on what Coach McDonald and Coach Reed have taught her." Papaleo led the Lady Conqs on the defensive end with her ability to rebound and block shots. She averaged 8 rebounds per game and had 20 rebounds in a game against McPherson College. Papaleo also led DC in blocks with 38 on the season, she had a season high 7 blocks against Hesston College. DC3 Head Coach believes Sharice deserves everything she has worked for, "It's a great testament that if you take care of your priorities and do what we ask in terms of basketball, that there are opportunities once you leave here," he said. "She's another example of a kid that comes in and maybe didn't have as many opportunities coming out of high school, but then worked her way into one throughout her two years here. It speaks volumes to the younger kids."
