For Immediate Release
Ross Vance, a member of the Dodge City Community College Baseball Program, has signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his playing career at West Virginia University. Vance came to DC3 after sitting out last year while recovering from Tommy John Surgery. The 6'0" southpaw will be looked at to anchor the Conq pitching staff this spring. Head Baseball Coach Phil Stephenson had this to say about Vance, "Ross is a guy we know we had to watch because of his injury, we believe he is only going to get stronger as the spring approaches. He works hard, does well in the classroom and is going to be a great addition to the Mountaineer program."
West Virginia, who recently joined the Big 12 Conference, finished their final season in the Big East Conference with a 23-32 overall record. Randy Mazey enters his 1st season as the Mountaineer's Head Coach, after spending the previous 6 years as an Assistant Coach at Texas Christian University.
Vance came to Dodge City from Lovejoy High School in McKinney, TX. Ross is the son of Shane and Kim Vance.
