Cheer Squad Signs Big Three from Wichita South

Jan 29, 2013
It's not often you get three cheerleaders from the same high school to attend the same college to pursue their cheerleading careers.  But that is just the case for Mikayla Perez, Jamelia McCay, and Teanna Thomas who attend Wichita South High School in Wichita, Kansas.  All three girls will be DC3 cheerleaders in fall 2013.

Mikayla Perez has been a Junior League Cheerleader for 9 years and a Wichita South High School Varsity cheerleader for 3 years.  Mikayla has made the honor roll numerous times throughout her high school career.  She is a part of crimestoppers, Urdan Younglife, C.L.A.S.S., and  Madison Ave Church of Chris in Wichita.  Mikayla goals are to earn her Bachelors Degree and Cheer for the Arizona State University in the Fall of 2015.

Coach's Comments: Mikayla has a lot of family in the Dodge City Area.  It will be great having local fans at games and competitions supporting her and the Cheer Squad.  I'm very excited to work with her and to help her grow her skills for the future.

Jamelia McCoy has been a part of YCOA Cheer for 7 years.  She has been a Varsity Cheerleader at Wichita South for 3 years.  While maintaing good grades in school she has made the honor roll several times.  Jamelia's goals are to make the honor roll at Dodge City and maintain a 3.6 gpa.  Jamelia wants to study to become a forensic scientist and eventually own her own business.

Coach's Comments:  Jamelia is a fun and energetic young women with a great cheer background of skills and experience.  She will represent the Conqs well.

Teanna Thomas has cheered for Titan Cheer and Wichita South High School.  She plans on majoring in physical therapy and finish college with her master's degree.  She looks forward to maintaining her 3.0 gpa at Dodge City and becoming a better cheerleader while she is here.

Coach's Comments: Teanna is very excited to come here and so are we!  She is a strong base and will bring a lot to the table for the team.
