Dodge City Community College jumps on Ft. Scott Community College early and coasts to 10-1 win

Game 1

Dodge City Community College shut the door early on Ft. Scott Community College, capturing a 10-1 victory on Saturday at Fort Scott.

Nine runs in the first three innings allowed Dodge City Community College to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Taylee Heckman and a two-run double by Brandy Huff in the first inning and an RBI double by Koo Maes, an RBI double by Heckman, and a two-run single by Haley Kollenz during the second inning fueled Dodge City Community College's offense early.

Heckman racked up four RBIs on three hits for Dodge City Community College.

Jaycie Morris shut down Ft. Scott Community College while she was on the rubber. Ft. Scott Community College managed just two hits off of Morris, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out three during her five innings of work.

Game 2

Dodge City Community College shut the door early on Ft. Scott Community College, capturing a 26-2 victory on Saturday at Fort Scott.

The game was decided quickly as Dodge City Community College exerted its will early with 16 runs in the first three innings.

A two-run single by Taylee Heckman, a bases loaded walk by Areal Shirley, and a two-run double by Makensy Payne in the first inning and a groundout by Danika Chavez, a sacrifice fly by Brandy Huff, a walk by Payne, a three-run double by Koo Maes, and a three-run home run by Amanda Best during the second inning fueled Dodge City Community College's offense early.

Dodge City Community College hit three home runs in the win. Additional home runs for Dodge City Community College came when Heckman homered in the fourth inning and Maes homered in the fourth inning.

Maes racked up eight RBIs on three hits for Dodge City Community College.

Dodge City Community College hammered Ft. Scott Community College pitching as eight hitters had a field day, combining for 19 hits, 23 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
