JUNCTION CITY, Kan. – The Dodge City men’s golf team continued its torrid pace and finished atop the team standings for the fifth-straight Jayhawk Conference meet at Rolling Meadows Golf Course.
The Conquistadors completed Jayhawk Tournament No. 5 with an overall score of 573 and finished three shots below par.
Hutchinson was the closest competitor and it finished 10 shots back.
Individually, the Conqs placed five golfers in the top 15.
Trevor Torgerson shot a 139 (-5) – including a tournament-low 68 on day two and finished tied for first place.
Zach Kirby carded a 143 (-1) and finished fourth and Jack Rickabaugh shot a 145 (+1) and finished in fifth.
Ryan Hand carded a 149 (+5) and finished tied for ninth, while Hugh Campbell shot a 150 (+6) and finished tied for 12th.
Zach Norton shot a 159 (+15) and finished in 36th place.
“We played really good. We are peaking at the right time and everyone is contributing which is nice,” DC3 coach Chris Robinson said. “It was the first win in Trevor's DC3 career which made it more special. Our goals are to win conference, Region IV, districts and compete for a national championship and it is possible to do all of these with this team.”
The Conqs return to the links April 21 for the Jayhawk Conference Championship.
