Season Outlook

 

2012-2013 Recap

 

The 2012-2013 season saw the Conquistadors finished 2nd in KJCCC Conference, Region VI Champions, District 3 Champions and 16th at the NJCAA National Championship. It also marked the 23rd straight year the school competed at the NJCAA National Golf Championships. The Conqs were also ranked as high 4th in the Polls. The Conquistadors won four tournaments and had ten top ten finishes.

The 2012-2013  season saw the Conquistadors place five players on the All-KJCCC Conference team: Mariano Rossi (1st Team), Parker Dolezal (1st Team), Trevor Torgerson (2nd Team), Duane Russell (2nd Team) Ryan Hand (Honorable Mention).The selections makes 71 Conquistadors that have been selected to the All-Conference teams in the past 23 years. Mariano Rossi was runner up Conference Player of the year for the second year in a row winning three tournaments during the conference season. Mariano won ten tournaments during his two years at DCCC, the most ever by any players.  He also was a member of the NJCAA District III Team and was an ALL-Region VI Selection Dodge City leads all other conference schools in all-conference selections. Mariano Rossi was selected to the Ping Golf Coaches Association All-American Team (1st Team) for the second straight year.

Sophomores Mariano Rossi and Parker will continue their playing careers.  Parker will attend and play at Oral Roberts University.  Mariano will attend and play at Grand Canyon University. 

The 2012-2013 team again showed that not only are the Conquistadors very good golfers, but also outstanding in the classroom. The team earned a first place rating for men’s golf team. 

 

2013-2014 Preview

 

The 2012-2013 season saw the Conquistadors finished 2nd in KJCCC Conference, Region VI Champions, District 3 Champions and 16th at the NJCAA National Championship. It also marked the 23rd straight year the school competed at the NJCAA National Golf Championships. The Conqs were also ranked as high 4th in the Polls. The Conquistadors won four tournaments and had ten top ten finishes.  The team's nationally ranked streak will also be on the line. If the team qualifies for the NJCAA National Division I Championship it will mark the 23rd straight year the Conquistadors have competed in the tournament.       

The 2012-2013 season brings many new faces as the Conquistadors will be a freshmen dominated team, with seven players having no college experience. Coach Robinson signed seven new players for the 2012-13 season, Zach Kirby, Zach Norton, Hugh Campbell, Oliver Hayter, Jack Rickabaugh, Juan Ollarzabal Tyler Heimerman. These seven new players along with returning sophomores Trevor Torgerson and Ryan Hand will again have the Conquistadors fighting for Conference, Regional and National Championships. A schedule that finds the Conquistadors teeing it with some of the best junior college teams in the country two outstanding returning sophomores and talented freshmen,should have the Conqs searching for their 23 consecutive trip to the NJCAA National Golf Championships.
