Soccer Wins at Home

Both men's and women's soccer picked up wins on Saturday against Cowley College.  The women won 2-1 on two goals by Kayla Turner.  Turner scored at 6 and 26 minutes.  Turner now has 18 goals, which is the DCCC record for goals on a season.  The career goal record is 26, which is held by Lety Ibarra.  Turner had 2 goals and 4 shots on the day.  Sam Cypert had an assist on one of the goals.  Karly Day had 5 saves on the day.
The Conq men won 4-3 in overtime against a tough Cowley squad.  The Tigers were up 2-0 when Rene Yeverino scored the first of his two goals at the 74th minute with an assist by Cristian Verduzco.  Kalaka Matundu scored at the 78th minute, with an assist from Evan Williams, to tie the Tigers before Yeverino scored the go ahead goal on an assist from Ben Carter at the 80th minute.  The Tigers tied up the game at the 89th minute sending the game into overtime.  At the 93rd minute on a throw in from Dominique Mays, Aymen Hadj Slama scored the game winning goal.  Alex Rodela had 2 saves on the day. 
Men's soccer will travel to Lamar, CO on Wednesday before both squads travel to Pratt on Saturday.
