Men's Soccer Wins Final Regular Season Game
Oct 31, 2013
The men's soccer team already knew they were going to keep playing in to the post-season at Wednesday's game against Neosho County. It was up to them to determine the opponent as they were tied in the standings with Neosho County. Neosho turned into their own enemy as they scored an own goal at the 35th minute. Their goal keeper attempted to clear a ball but instead kicked the ball into a teammate and Ben Carter causing the ball to ricochet back into the net. Rene Yeverino scored the next goal at 43 minutes on an assist from Diego Chulan to go up 2-0 at halftime. The second half was relatively quiet as both teams put up good defense. Unfortunately for Neosho County, they scored an own goal again at 66 minutes when a Neosho player attempted to clear the ball but instead kicked it into his own goal. The Conqs finished with a 3-0 win and will be travelling to Cloud County to play Sunday at 2pm.
