Stephenson helps Dodge City Community College down Cloud County Community College 8-5

Ashley Stephenson went 3-3 at the plate, sparking Dodge City Community College to an 8-5 victory in seven innings over Cloud County Community College on Tuesday at Dodge City,KS.

She singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the fourth inning.

The top of the first saw Cloud County Community College take an early lead, 1-0. A single by Jessica Downard, scoring Sierra Eason started the inning off.

Dodge City Community College answered Cloud County Community College's top inning with one run of its own in the first. Dodge City Community College scored on an RBI double by Amanda Best.

The lead stayed with Dodge City Community College after the third, when it scored three runs on a fielder's choice and two singles.

Dodge City Community College quickly matched Cloud County Community College's strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the fourth. Dodge City Community College scored on a two-run double by Taylee Heckman.

After pushing across one run in the top of the fifth, Cloud County Community College faced just a 6-3 deficit. A solo home run by Chatley Lavvorn sparked Cloud County Community College's rally. But, Heckman got Downard to ground out to end the inning.

Two runs in the top of the seventh helped Cloud County Community College close its deficit to 8-5. A two-run single by Downard triggered Cloud County Community College's comeback. The game went final when Madison Bryant.
