Dodge City Softball Dominates All-Conference Selections

May 01, 2013
It was a runaway when it came to All-Conference selections for Dodge City softball.  Placing 4 out of the 5 selectees on the All-Conference First Team.  Giving Dodge the honor of having the most first team selections.  The selections come fresh off of a first round playoff sweep of Cloud County, topping off an already stellar season for the Lady Conqs.

Players were nominated by their coaches and then voted upon by opposing coaches, who did not vote for their own players, in their respective divisions.  The All-Conference teams represent the top players at their position, or more in some cases of ties, who received the most votes.  Taylee Heckman was selected 1st team first base, Makensy Payne was selected 1st team second base, Makenzie "Koo" Maes was selected 1st team outfield, and Amanda Best was selected 1st team catcher. Rounding out the selections for Dodge was Brandy Huff who earned honorable mention honors for utility position.  Congratulations to the whole Softball team, for helping each teammate earn their individual honors.
