Cheer squad signs 3 from Dodge City High School

May 20, 2013

The DC3 Cheer Squad signed 3 more cheerleaders from the hometown of Dodge City.  Perlita Domingues from Dodge High, was a member of the Dodge High Drill Team for four years and was a member of the cheer squad for three years.  She earned student of the month honors this past year and finished in the top 10% of her class. She has been a on the honor roll every semester and was also junior class president.  Perlita earned All-American Cheer honors as well as making the Tournament of Champions All Tournament Team.  She would like to transfer to K-State after she finishes at DC3.
Coach's Comments: Perlita has a strong dance background and cheer as well.  Both sides will aid DC3 cheer strongly, she has a wealth of talent and I look forward to helping her grow.

Luis Hernandez Reyes was a member of the Dodge City High School Cheer Squad this past year.  Luis learned a lot in his first year of cheer, learning how  to do jumps and stunts.  While at Dodge High, Luis participated in Heritage Panel, and FCCLA.  At the next level Luis would like to continue learning more stunts, become a tumbler, and wants to become a licensed cosmetologist at DC3.
Coach's Comments: Luis was at a high school cheer camp 2 years ago and I got to coach him and help him get better in a short period of time.  Now I have the pleasure to work with him all year while he is here at DC3.

Ruby Valadez will also be joining the DC3 Cheer Squad.  Ruby is an excellent student finishing high school with a 3.6 GPA.  She was a member of the Dodge City High track and field team, cross country team, and FBLA.  Ruby plans on graduating DC3 with honors and transfer to a state university and earn a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
Coach's Comments: I am very excited to be able to coach Ruby.  She is a natural athlete and has picked up cheer quiet and quickly.  I am looking forward to how she will grow at DC3.
