    This is Coach Smiths’ second year as assistant track coach at Dodge City Community College after coaching at Dodge City High School for the past three years. 

    Coach Smith has been involved in track and field since the age of nine competing in events such as 100 m, 200 m, 400m, 4X100 relay, 4X4 relay, 100 high hurdles, 300 intermediate hurdles, 800 m, high jump, shot put, and javelin.  Smith has competed in National AAU and TAC track and field meets in California, Florida, Nebraska, and Kansas.  Smith was a state qualifier each year of her high school career at Dodge City High School and placed in the top five in the state in the 300 intermediate hurdles two of those years. She then went on to run track at Southwestern College in Winfield Kansas, as well as participating in cheerleading and athletic training while maintaining the Presidential academic scholarship.

    Coach Smith graduated Sum Cum Laud from Manhattan Christian College with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Management and Ethics and is currently in her junior year at Fort Hays State University earning her Bachelors of Science Degree in K-12 Physical Education with an additional Certification in Health Education.

    Residing in Dodge City with her husband, Andy Smith who is also a former DCHS athlete, and two children Kylee (9) and Tucker (7), Coach Smith enjoys spending any free time she may have being active with her family. She also enjoys spending time with her friends, watching movies, and playing volleyball.
