Lady Conqs Volleyball Win Air Force Prep II Tournament/Lose Heartbreaking Conference Match to Barton

Sep 18, 2012
The Lady Conqs are getting better and better as the season goes on.  With any team it is important to peak at the right time, and it looks like that is exactly what is happening with the Lady Conqs as they approach the mid-season mark.  With a clean sweep in the Air Force Prep II Tournament, the ladies finished 5-0, defeating Independence CC, Air Force Prep, McCook CC, Garden City CC, and Wentworth CC.  Bringing home the title of 1st Place Champions.  "The ladies are gelling more and more each game" said asst. coach Ashley Nelhs.  With only two sophomores on the team, it was only a matter of time before the team would start to come together and produce wins.

Coming off a great weekend the Lady Conqs looked to keep the momentum going into conference play last night against Barton.  With a win, they would have been at the top of the conference with a winning record.  Unfortunately, that was not the case.  In a tough fought match the team came up short, in what was seen as a controversial call to end the match.  They can bounce back with a conference win in their next match against Sewerd County, Wednesday Sept 19 at 6:30.  A win wednesday will place the ladies at 9-10 on the season, which places them one game away from being .500 and on their way to a winning record.
