Basketball Victorious Over the Weekend

Both the women's and men's basketball teams picked up victories this weekend at the Conq Classic. On Friday, the women defeated Bethany JV, 98-50. With 19 points, Kelli Tolar was the leading scorer for the Conqs. Tolar was also the assist leader with 6 and had 4 rebounds. Hannah Whitaker lead the Conqs with 17 rebounds. She has had 8 points, 1 assist, 2 blocks and 3 steals. The women defeated Tabor JV on Satuday, 95-77. Tolar was once again the leading scorer with 27. She also had 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Azaria Nave was the assist leader with 6. She also had 22 points and 5 rebounds. Whitaker was the leading rebounder again with 12. She also had 9 points and 3 blocks.
The men had two very close games that came down to the final horn in both victories. The Conqs defeated Allen on Friday, 64-63 and Clarendon on Saturday, 96-95. Delvon Rencher was the closer for both games. He had 18 points in both games and hit the winning free throw against Clarendon with just seconds left on the clock. EJ Eaves was the leading scorer for the Conqs on Saturday with 28.
Both teams will be in action on Tuesday as they host Lamar Community College at the United Wireless Arena. Tip-off for the women is set for 6pm with the men to follow around 8pm. Following Tuesdays games, the men will host the Pizza Hut Classic on Friday and Saturday. Seward County will play the first game on Friday at 5pm vs Butler. The Conq men will play against Raleigh's Finest Prep, with a scheduled game time of 7pm. On Saturday, the action will start earlier as Seward County plays at 2pm against Raleigh's Finest Prep. The Conqs are scheduled for 4pm on Saturday and will play Butler.
