Lady Conqs Lose to Garden in Regional

WICHITA
The Dodge City Lady Conquistadors had a poor shooting first half and could never recover in losing 64-50 to Garden City in the Region VI women’s quarterfinal Wednesday at Koch Arena.
The Lady Conqs shot 6-of-30 from the field in the first half as the Lady Busters built a 22-point first half lead and led 31-16 at intermission.
Kelli Tolar scored 15 points in her final game in a Lady Conq uniform, while Azaria Nave added 14 for Dodge City (17-15); both scoring 10 in the second half. Kesha Buckner added seven points and led Dodge City in rebounds (10) and assists (five). Dodge City shot 17-of-61 in its final game of the season.
Loysha Morris and Shauqunna Collins scored 15 points apiece and Jasmine Christmas added 11 for Garden City (18-13).
The Lady Busters will face Hutchinson in Friday’s semifinals. Hutchinson beat Independence 70-53. The other semifinal will have Butler playing Barton. Butler beat Cloud County 76-67 and Barton upset Seward County 61-56.
