Women's Soccer Wins, Qualifies for Post-Season
Oct 31, 2013
The women's soccer team was in a must-win situation yesterday as they played Neosho County. Win and they were in the playoffs. Lose and the season is over. The women came to play as they scored 2 goals in the first 3 minutes of play. Sam Cypert scored on a free kick and Kayla Turner scored on an assist from Dalila Rodriguez. Turner scored on another assistant from Rodriguez at the 23rd minute mark before Neosho got on the board at 26 minutes for a halftime score of 3-1. Rodriguez jumped on the scoring track on an assist from Vanessa Perez one minute into the second half. Neosho then went on to score 2 kick goals at the 64th and 68th minute marks before Erica Ramos scored one minute later on an assistant from Jessica Klemetson. The final goal of the game was at 85 minutes by Neosho's Haylie Kinzey, who had all 4 goals for Neosho County. With the 5-4 win, the women qualify for the post season and will play at Johnson County on Saturday at 2pm.
