Who is eligible to participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program?

Participants must have a current licenses or certificate of registration. The day care can be a family child care registered home, family child care licensed home or a family child care group home.

Any child age 0 -12 is eligible to receive reimbursable meal snacks at the day care home. A meal for school age children in grade 1-6 cannot be reimbursed if that meal was available at school.

In family day care homes, reimbursement is paid to the provider regardless of the income level of the provider or the enrolled child. Family day care home providers who meet income guidelines may claim reimbursements for meals served to their own children if at least one outside child is also present for that meal.

Non-profit centers and in some cases for profit centers can participate in CACFP through the Kansas State Board of Education
