Head Cheer/Dance Coach

Valerie Cunningham

► 2nd year as Head Cheer & Dance Coach at Dodge City Community College

Valerie has over 18 years of dance experience.  She started dancing at the age of two and a half and continued to dance, model and cheer through adolescent years, dancing at a performing arts school.  She shifted her focus to cheerleading in 1993 and had the opportunity to participate in Competitive cheer competitions as well as clinics sponsored by NCA and Colorado State University.

For the past six years she has had her own cheer studio for both competitive and non-competitive teams starting at the age of three through 18.  The Dodge City Diamonds have won several national titles at Jamfest as well as cheer power.

Valerie was the former Dodge City High School head cheer coach with two very successful seasons.  She is excited to have the opportunity to coach at a college level for cheer and dance at DCCC.
