Dodge City Community College outlast Coffeyville Community College in high-scoring affair in first game, 16-11

Pitchers had a tough day during the game between Dodge City Community College and Coffeyville Community College, as the two teams put up 27 runs combined in a 16-11 Dodge City Community College win.

The teams totaled 38 hits, including 12 extra base hits in the game.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

Dodge City Community College pulled out the win thanks to a strong second inning. Dodge City Community College scored on a two-run double by Kayli Keate off Shelby Smith, scoring Ashley Stephenson and Taylee Heckman.

Dodge City Community College hit three home runs in the win. Home runs for Dodge City Community College came when Amanda Best homered in the fifth inning, Brandy Huff homered in the fifth inning, and Makensy Paynehomered in the sixth inning.
