Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Tuesday as Dodge City Community College outscored Cloud County Community College 11-9 in seven innings.
The teams combined for 26 hits, including 11 extra base hits.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.
Dodge City Community College took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. Dodge City Community College scored on a three-run home run by Brandy Huff off Katelyn Bailey, plating Taylee Heckman and Amanda Best.
Dodge City Community College hit seven home runs in the win. Additional home runs for Dodge City Community College came when Heckman homered in the first inning, Ashley Stephenson homered in the fifth inning, Best homered in the fifth inning, Makensy Payne homered in the sixth inning,Danielle Klassen homered in the sixth inning, and Koo Maes homered in the sixth inning.
Dodge City Community College hammered Cloud County Community College pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 11 hits, 11 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
The top of the first saw Cloud County Community College take an early lead, 3-0. After Savanna Luke singled, Jessica Downard homered, scoring Chatley Lavvorn and Luke.
It didn't take long for Dodge City Community College to respond as it scored three runs of its own in the first. Dodge City Community College scored on a three-run home run by Heckman.
Dodge City Community College went up for good in the sixth scoring six total runs, which came home on three solo home runs.
Cloud County Community College scored two runs in the top of the seventh to cut its deficit to two. A two-run double by Tavia Fazel sparked Cloud County Community College's rally. Finally, Jaycie Morris got Bailey to ground out to end the game.
