COLBY, Kan. – The Dodge City Community College baseball team dropped a twin bill, 10-0 and 5-3, Sunday afternoon in Jayhawk Conference action at Trojan Field.
In game two of the doubleheader both teams were tied at 3-3 after six innings.
CCC (12-11, 6-6 Jayhawk Conference) pushed across two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to clinch the win.
For the Conquistadors, Spencer Bedwell (Colorado Springs, Colo. /Pine Creek HS) started the game and was credited with a no decision. The 6-foot-1 righty tossed six innings and allowed five hits, two runs (one earned) and one walk and struck out five.
Sam Brunner (Fort Collins, Colo. /Fort Collins HS) absorbed the loss for the Conqs. He pitched two innings and allowed three hits and two runs and no walks and struck out five.
Parker Jones (The Colony, Texas/The Colony HS) and Trent Troxell (Fort Cobb, Okla. /Fort Cobb-Broxton HS) each recorded an RBI.
The Trojans toppled the Conqs 10-0 (5 Inn.) in the opener.
Russell Mithlo (Anadarko, Okla. /Anadarko HS) was tagged with the loss. He threw four innings and allowed 10 hits, five runs and four walks and struck out one.
DC3 (15-9, 5-7 Jayhawk Conference), losers of five in a row, look to get back into the win column with a nine-inning affair Tuesday against New Mexico Military Institute.
