GREAT BEND, Kan. – The Dodge City women’s golf team started the spring portion of its season in dominating fashion.
As a team the Lady Conqs placed first and carded a 549 and placed four golfers in the top 10 at KJCCC designated tourney No. 4 at Stoneridge Golf Course.
“It feels good to open the spring half of our season with a win,” DC3 coach Ed Bethea said. “This was the first time they’ve played in a competitive environment and I was relatively pleased. It was pretty windy and they did a great job of staying composed and fighting through the conditions.”
Individually, Jodi Saito shot a 131 and was one stroke off first place.
Gabriella Clemence finished with a 135 and placed fourth, while Annie Cheridan carded a 137 and placed sixth.
Lina Baquero shot a 146 and finished ninth.
“I’m pretty happy for Lina,” added Bethea. “She struggled on the first day, but rallied back and was able to finish in the top 10.”
The Lady Conqs take a week off before heading to play at Coffeyville April 12.
