DC3 Adult Learning Center Receives Grant for Over $200,000

May 24, 2017

The Kansas Board of Regents recently awarded funds to Dodge City Community College in the amount of over $200,000 for Adult Education and Family Literacy activities under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for Fiscal Year 2018.

When asked how the grant will benefit the DC3 Adult Learning Center, ALC Director Brandie Ferguson responded, “The Title II Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant will allow DCCC ALC staff to continue working with the community as well as providing exciting new opportunities through technology and work skill training within our ESL and GED classes.”

Ryan Ausmus, DC3 Dean of Workforce Development, stated, “Each year we have hundreds of people from the community looking for the opportunity to complete their GED or increase their level of English language proficiency. Therefore, this grant will allow Dodge City Community College the ability to provide services to the community that will allow people to achieve their personal and academic goals. We are honored to be able to work with the community in this manner and have the opportunity to see people’s dreams come true.”
