Campus
Information Center
The Campus Information Center is located in the Bookstore
at the Student Union. Pamphlets, brochures, College calendars, class schedules, security
guidelines, student handbooks, financial aid and scholarship brochures, the student
newspaper the "Conquistador", meeting schedules and other information is
available at this location. Please keep the information center advised of activities so
they will be able to provide assistance to students, faculty, staff and visitors. (back to top)
DCCC Employee Identification Card
All employees of the College may obtain an identification
card which entitles them and their immediate family to free admittance to certain College
sponsored activities. Some of these include sports events, plays and concerts.
Identification cards are issued in the Student Services Office and should be validated

Mail/Courier Services
Each day at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. mail and other items
will be picked up and delivered across campus. The present pick up and delivery sites at
each building are as follows:
Student Center - Student Services Secretary

Business Office, Public Information Office and Dean of Instruction's Office

Mail Guidelines
Each department's or person's outgoing mail is to be banded
as follows: In-State, Out-of-State, Dodge City, Residence Halls and Foreign.
Foreign mail should be banded according to country. Business reply and stamped mail should
also be banded separately.
All outgoing mail must have return identification on each
piece located in the upper left hand corner of the envelope. This identification should
include a return address and mail identification number.
When filling out inter-office envelopes we ask that you do
not abbreviate names or departments. Please write in a full name and department.
All outgoing packages should clearly be marked as 1st
class, 3rd class, UPS, etc. All packages must be boxed, taped and ready to go, with any
wording that does not pertain to shipping blacked out.
All outgoing mail must be brought to the Mail Room by 4:00
p.m. each day. Mail is picked up by maintenance and taken to the Dodge City Post Office by
4:30 p.m.
UPS - Outgoing Packages
Outgoing packages should be taken to the Mail Room by 3
p.m. to be sent out. For further information contact the Copy Center. Overnight service is
available from UPS. Personal use of UPS requires payment in advance at the Business
Office. The mail room staff will weigh the item and advise of charges. UPS items are
picked up at the mail room at 4:00 p.m. daily.
Bulk Mailing
- Must be 200 pieces or more.
- Bulk mailings are different from regular mailings in that
bulk mailings must be stacked in zip code order.
- Each piece of mail must have a mail identification number
and return address in the upper left hand corner. If you are sending out business reply
envelopes with your mailing, they must also have a mail identification number on each
letter for easy identification upon receipt in the DCCC mail room.
- All envelopes must be the same type and weight. Do not put
something in one envelope that will not be in all of them.
- Foreign mail can not be sent bulk mail, or as a part of a
bulk mailing.
- The Mail Room clerk must be notified 3 days in advance of
any bulk mailing.
Express Mail
Express mail envelopes can be picked up in the Mail Room.
Express mail must be delivered to the Post Office by 3:00 p.m. for delivery the following
day. Each individual is responsible for delivering items to the Post Office. Generally,
UPS service is more economical and more convenient. (back

Copy Center
The Copy Center is available for quick copy work and for
limited quality printing. Instructional materials take first priority.
All originals brought or sent to the Copy Center must be
ready for reproduction. All pages are to be the same size with a margin of 5/8" on
all sides. Make sure all pages of the original are on white paper. Any attachments to the
original must be taped or glued down completely on all four sides. If not, they will get
caught in the machines. Each page of the original must be numbered on either the front or
back of the page.
All work to be copied must be in the Copy Center a full 24
hours before it is needed. Any last minute or rush jobs must receive authorization from
the Copy Center Manager or assistant before being sent to the Copy Center. Copy Center
Ext. 214.
All work sent to the Copy Center to be copied must be
accompanied by a pink Copy Center Request form. Include your name, department, phone
extension, account number and any other important instructions. Please remember when
filling out the Copy Center request form, double sided originals (front & back) count
as 2 pages. If you have any questions about Copy Center procedures or services, please
call ext. 214.
Copyright laws will be enforced. Copyright is the exclusive
legal right to publish, sell, and reproduce literary, musical, and artistic works. In the
United States, the rights of copyright holders are provided for in the 1976 Copyright Act
(Title 17, U.S. Code). The 1980 addition of Section 117 to Title 17 recognized the
copyright ability of computer software. Infringement of copyright is both illegal and
unethical. More information on copyright laws is available in the College library through
the Director of the Learning Resource Center.
The Copy Center will not reproduce any work(s) under
copyright. We must have a copy of the release statement if the material requested is under
copyright, even if the copyright is your own, we must have a copy of the release
statement. No release statement, no copies. (back

Communications
Dodge City Community College attempts to keep its employees
informed of activities and news.
"Conq Quotes"
This daily bulletin for students, faculty and staff is
intended as a means to quickly inform the campus community of meetings, activities,
congratulations, etc. and is distributed throughout the campus each morning. To submit an
item, e-mail or forward it to the Campus Information Center advising when it should be
published and how long it should appear. Student submissions must be signed by a faculty
or staff member.
"CLIPS"
Clips is a monthly report advising of Board of Trustees
action and is available on the College Home Page and on e-mail following the monthly Board
meeting. Clips is distributed via email to all campus employees, and is also accessible on
the World Wide Web at http://www.dccc.cc.ks.us/clips.html.
E-Mail and the Network
E-mail, and access to the network, is available
campus-wide. Employees should contact the MIS Department in the Administration Building to
complete the necessary form to establish an e-mail account, a password and schedule
training. Passwords should be a form of your name, i.e., first initial and last name, up
to 10 characters. MIS staff will advise when your e-mail is operational.
Web Page
For the on-line audience, Dodge City Community College's
web page may be accessed at http://www.dccc.cc.ks.us.
The web page includes information about the College's educational programs, residence
halls, upcoming events, a photographic tour of the campus, and links to College and
community activities. To submit information to be included on the web page, please contact
the Office of Public Information.
"The Conquistador"
The student newspaper, The Conquistador, is
distributed during the academic year at different locations in campus buildings.
Better College Suggestion Box
Better College Boxes are available to provide students,
staff and visitors an opportunity to submit suggestions (either signed or anonymous). The
items will be reviewed by the President's Cabinet. Whenever appropriate, feedback will be
provided either directly to the individual (if identified), via the newsletter or in
various staff meetings.(back to top)
Library (LRC)
There is a two week loan period for books and audio
visuals, although employees may request extended borrowing privileges at the time they are
checking out materials. Reference books and periodicals remain in the library, but special
arrangements can be made if there is an urgent need. A special Professional Collection of
books and audio visuals is available for DCCC staff. Books on audio tapes are also
available. Ask at the Information Desk for these items. A DCCC Library card is required to
