BUS 122 Introduction to Accounting
An introduction to the basic structure of accounting systems, the accounting cycle and the preparation of financial statements. Special emphasis is placed on the use of journal entries, accounting for and control of cash, and payroll accounting. Designed for students with no previous exposure to accounting topics.                      

BUS 143 Introduction to Business

 

This course provides an introduction to business. The emphasis is on understanding how business, government, and citizens, together influence the ways that business is conducted in different societies. You will gain a fundamental working knowledge about every aspect of business and the environment in which business prospers.

CS101 Computer Concepts and Applications

This course provides a hands-on, task-driven approach to learning the fundamental concepts and skills of computing. Throughout the course the students work through tutorials and realistic case studies. In this way the student is exposed to situations similar to those one might encounter in the workplace. Topics covered include terminology, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, desktop publishing, operating systems, networking, programming, and telecommunications.

BUS 130   Financial Accounting

The study of financial accounting concepts as a basis for communicating financial information about the activities of a business enterprise to external users. Emphasis is placed on the principles underlying the preparation and interpretation of external financial statements. Prerequisite: BUS 122 or approval of instructor.    

BUS 131 Managerial Accounting
The study of managerial accounting concepts as a basis for accumulating and summarizing information required by the managers of a business enterprise. Emphasis is placed on the use of accounting information for planning and controlling a firm’s operations. Prerequisite: BUS 130.       

BUS 103 Principles of Management 
An introduction to the principles and techniques of business management functions, setting objectives, planning and scheduling, organizing, staffing, delegating, and controlling will be stressed.
