The Dodge City Community College Softball team has announced the signing of Dodge City HS standout Ashley Stephenson.

The Dodge City Community College Softball team has announced the signing of Dodge City HS standout Ashley Stephenson.  After finishing her senior year at DCHS, Stephenson has decided to continue her softball career just across the highway and help continue the recent success for the softball program.  "Ashley's athleticism and her knowledge of the game helps a lot. She's going to be a tremendous hitter, and she's the type of utility player that will allow her to have a number of opportunities at different positions," Head Coach Howie Smith said. "I think getting a girl like her from Dodge City is important to our community, the school, and everyone in the service area, we're trying to get these hometown kids."  Stephenson has already been named 1st Team All Western Athletic Conference in each of her first 3 years and looks to cap off a brilliant high school career this spring.  Stephenson is the daughter of DC3 Head Baseball Coach Phil Stephenson and his wife Kim Stephenson.

Ashley Stephenson signs her Letter of Intent with parents Phil and Kim, Brett (brother), and Head Coach Howie Smith.
