Attendees:  Brittni Conrardy (Biology Major), Theresa Hardin (Nursing Major), & Brian Meyers (Art Major)

and co-advisor Fran Durant.

OFFICERS to serve through May 09.  We have filled the following positions:  President: Brittni Conrardy; VP Leadership:  Seth Salmans; VP Service:  Brian Meyers; and Historian:  Theresa Hardin. 

We still have openings for these positions:  VP Fellowship, VP Scholarship; Student Government Representative (attends Monday 4:00 p.m. meetings & reports back to our next meeting; Reporter.

The officers will be installed at the beginning of induction.  Officer duties commence at the next meeting.

Recruiting New Members:  See Fran for sections of list of eligible students to contact via phone.

Deadline to join & be included in induction program = Tuesday, October 28^th.

Induction Ceremony Nov. 2^nd, 2008 Student Union Board Room:  Jennifer talked about the importance of attending.  The room is located at the top of the stairs on the west side.  Set up workers should come at 2:00.  New members & officers come by 2:15 for short rehearsal before 3:00 ceremony.  The need to dress up, mentioned in Fran’s earlier e-mail, and the reasoning behind it, was reviewed.  Officers will have a short part of the induction script to read.  We will have refreshments following.

Fundraisers:

Gourmet Lollypops –Still have 1,350+ to sell.  We discussed selling them individually as we go through our day and setting up a table and roaming the aisles at ball games and music events.  All present took a bag of 36 to sell for $18 or to sell one at a time at $.50 each.

SGA Matching Funds:  Talked about the up to $500 matching funds from SGA if we attend all the meetings and turn in the proper form with proof of funds raised.

Operation Green Project:   Deb Roda, from CREW/Keep Dodge Beautiful called Fran about a joint beverage container recycling project on campus.  Fran will call her and get more information for next meeting.

Honors Study Topic Project:  Discussed the possibilities for some projects relating to the new topic Paradox of Affluence:  Choices, Challenges and Consequences.

Next Meeting:  October 16^th 4:00 Fine Arts 220

Refreshments will be served.  May not be as yummy as today’s cake.
