Election & Duties of Kappa Psi Officers

Elections
The election of officers shall be held no later than one week prior to the conclusion of the Spring semester, and these officers shall assume office upon conclusion of the Spring semester.

Before any election each member shall be given a job description of each office.

Each nominee must be willing and able to perform and adhere to the requirements in the job description before accepting nomination for that office.

All candidates for office must be members of Kappa Psi, and be in good standing.

All nominations shall be made no later than the chapter meeting prior to elections.  Any active member may present a nominee for an office.

Vote shall be cast by secret ballot.  A plurality of the votes cast shall determine the new officer.

If an officer is unable to meet the requirements of their office for any reason, they must notify their advisor who will delegate their duties to another member in good standing until such time as they can resume them.  If unable to resume the duties of the office, the officer must resign the position for which they were elected.  When an officer must resign his office, an election shall be held to elect a new officer.

Officers
All officers shall be active members in good standing and are required to attend all chapter meetings or delegate duties to another member or officer as appropriate in event of advisor excused absence.  All officers are required to participate in recruiting eligible students.

The Kappa Psi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa shall have the following officers:  President, Secretary, Historian/Photographer/Yearbook, Newsletter/Reporter/Webpage, Student Government Association Member, Vice President of Fellowship, Vice President of Leadership, Vice President of Scholarship, and Vice President of Service.

PRESIDENT
The President shall be the chief executive officer of this chapter, and the duties shall be:

VICE-PRESIDENTS
The Vice-Presidents shall perform duties as assigned by the President.  Perform all the duties of the President in the event of absence.  The duty follows this order:  Vice President of Leadership, then Vice President of Fellowship, Vice President of Scholarship, and Vice President of Service.
