Membership Eligibility Requirements
1. A student must be currently enrolled in a regionally accredited institution in an associate degree program (Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Applied Science in Nursing, or Associate of General Studies).
2. At least twelve hours of course work must be in courses leading to an associate degree in a regionally accredited two-year college, four-year college or university. Only course work taken at the institution where the student is presently enrolled may be considered in determining membership eligibility.
3. A DCCC student must have completed twelve or more hours at the 100 level or above in courses leading to an associates degree. Part-time students may be considered for membership once those twelve credit hours have been accumulated. Example: A student may take one three-hour credit class per semester, and after four semesters, could be considered for membership.
4. A DCCC student is required to have earned no less than a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale for eligibility. The student should also be of good moral character, and should possess qualities of admirable citizenship.
After induction, the student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. If the student’s GPA drops below 3.0 the student is placed on probation and has one term in which to raise the average to the maintenance level. If a student fails to do so, the student’s name is removed form the chapter rolls and the National Headquarters is notified to remove the name from the national rolls as well.
