Softball Loses Both To Western Oklahoma
Posted
February 20, 2012
The Lady Conq
Softball team opened their 2012 season against a tough Western Oklahoma
St. squad. DC (0-2) played well but lost both games of the
doubleheader, 5-0 and 9-1 in 6 innings. Dodge faced a very good
hitting Western team that was averaging more than 12 runs a game.
Solid pitching gave DC an opportunity in both games but the Lady Conqs
couldn't come up with the big hit. Rhiannon Beck had 2 hits and a
RBI for the day to lead DC. Alexis Walters and Shelby Dill started
on the mound for Dodge, they both pitched well but ended up taking the
losses. DC will be back in action on Wednesday when the travel to
Great Bend to take on Barton. The scheduled doubleheader is slated
to start at 2 pm.

Posted February 13, 2012
It wasn't pretty, but The DC3
men's basketball team will take it. With the return of Coach
Trenkle on the sideline, the Conqs were able to grind out a big
conference win against the visiting Colby Trojans 69-66. Dodge
was outstanding on the defensive side of the floor, holding Colby to
35% shooting for the night. DC was balanced offensively with 5
Conqs scoring in double figures, led by Tramel White with 15, who

Lady Conqs Comeback Falls
Short
Posted February 13, 2012
On Saturday, the DC3 women's
basketball team played catch up for most of the night. With less
than 2 minutes to go in the game and cutting a 12 point deficit to
2, DC had a chance to take the lead but the big shot would not fall
for the Lady Conqs as they dropped a heartbreaker 60-56 to Colby.
Je'nae Strong led the Lady Conqs with 20 points and 8 rebounds,
Casey McCauley chipped in 12 points and a game high 9 rebounds.
The Lady Conqs (0-11, 8-17) will be back in action on Wednesday,

Conqs Lose Close Game
Posted February 9, 2012
The Conqs were once again
without their coach Brady Trenkle and their steal leader Tramel
White as they traveled to Great Bend last night. Although the
Cougars had double digit leads throughout the game, the Conqs had
the chance to tie or take the lead at the end. That attempt
unfortunately came up short as the Conqs fell 83-81. The Conqs
(3-7; 15-9) hope they can break their losing streak on Saturday when
they take on Colby (6-4; 18-6) at the United Wireless Arena.
Tip-off time is scheduled for 7:30pm. The Trojans won the last
contest 72-70.

Lady Conqs Continue Slide
Posted February 9, 2012
The Lady Conqs traveled to
Great Bend last night hoping to pick up a much-needed victory.
This would be a tough test without their versatile guard Kalyn
Williams and their leading rebounder Sharice Papaleo, both out due
to injury. The Lady Conqs couldn't overcome the Lady Cougars
strong shooting, losing 76-55. The Lady Conqs (0-10; 8-16)
will continue to search for their first conference victory when they
host Colby Lady Trojans (3-7; 7-17) on Saturday at the United
Wireless Arena. Tip-off time is set for 5:30pm. The Lady
Trojans won the last contest 73-61 at Colby, holding off Jazmin

Posted January 23, 2012
With a big crowd in attendance at the Dodge City Civic Center, things didn't go as planned and Seward County came in and took both games on a tough night. In the girls game, Seward jumped out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back. The Lady Conqs continued to play hard, but fell 89-44 to move them to 8-12 overall and 0-6 in the Jayhawk. Kalyn Williams led DC with 14 points on the night. The men's game was a back and forth game the whole night. Seward led for most of the 1st half but Dodge was able to cut into the lead and go into the locker room at halftime only down 42-40. During the 2nd half, both teams continued to play well, but every time the Conqs made a run, Seward County had an answer, and went on to win by a score of 81-75. RJ McGhee led all scorers with 23 pts, while Tramel White (20 Pts, 10 Reb) and Tyshon Pickett (16 Pts, 10 Reb) both had double-doubles. The loss drops the Conqs into 5th place in the Jayhawk with a 3-3 record, but they are still 15-5 overall.
