All-Conference Honors

Two Lady Conq
volleyball players earned All-Conference Honors this
season. Sophomore transfer Emily Scheck (Dodge
City, KS) was selected to the First Team All-Conference
and sophomore Sherri Darden (San Antonio, TX) was
selected to the Second Team All-Conference.
Congratulations to both ladies!

Volleyball Loses
to Hutch to End Season

The Lady Conqs
volleyball team hoped the third time would be the charm
as they played Hutchinson Tuesday night for the First
Round of the Region VI Playoffs. Unfortunately it
wasn't meant to be as Hutchinson beat the Lady Conqs for
a third time this year 3-0. The Lady Conqs lost
the first two sets, 25-14 and 25-11. The
Lady Conqs mounted a comeback in the third set where
they were down 24-11; however, they weren't able to
prevail as Hutch won the set 27-25. The Lady Conqs
end the season 7-7 KJCCC and 17-18 overall.

Volleyball to Play
Tuesday for Playoffs

The Conq (7-7;
17-17) volleyball team will play at Hutchinson (9-5;
14-21) on Tuesday, November 1, for the First Round of
the Region VI Playoffs. Game time is 6:30pm.
The winner will advance to Wichita for the remainder of
the Region VI Playoffs.

Volleyball Drops
Regular Season Finale

Volleyball lost
their last game in the regular season match against the
same team that they will be playing for the First Round
of the Region VI Tournament, Hutchinson Community
College. The Lady Conqs lost 2-3, but will live to
fight again in the Region VI Tournament. They have
the chance to extract revenge on Hutchinson (9-5;
13-18). The Lady Conqs won the first set 25-19,
but lost the next match 25-19. They followed the
same pattern for the next two matches, winning 25-21 and
losing 29-27. They lost the final set 18-16.
The Lady Conqs end the regular season 7-7 in the KJCCC
and 17-17 overall. Date and time of the Region VI
First Round match have yet to be announced.

Lady Conqs
Volleyball Defeat Pratt

The Lady Conqs
volleyball defeated Pratt Community College 3-2 on
Thursday, October 20. Pratt won the first match
19-25 and the Lady Conqs tied it up in the second with a
25-23 victory. Game 3 went to Pratt 22-25, but the
Lady Conqs finished Pratt off with 26-24 and 15-1
victories. The win puts the Lady Conqs at 7-6 in
the Conference and 17-16 Overall. The Lady Conqs
are 5th in the Conference standings with one game left
in the regular season. They will travel to
Hutchinson (8-5 KJCCC, 12-18 Overall) on Wednesday,
October 26, and play at 6:30pm.

"Dig Pink" night inside the Dodge City
Community College gym and those in
attendance saw a dominating performance by
the Conquistador volleyball team, defeating
Garden City 25-13, 25-8, 25-11.

Lady Conq Volleyball Picks up Road Win

The Lady Conq
Volleyball team traveled to Colby Community College on
Wednesday, October 7, and picked up a win. The
Lady Conqs defeated the Lady Trojans 3-2. The Lady
Conqs (5-6 Conference, 15-16 Overall) will next play
Garden City (0-11 Conference, 1-27 Overall) on
Wednesday, October 19, at 6:30pm at the DC3 Gym.

Competes at Air Force Prep Tourney

The Lady Conq
Volleyball team traveled to Colorado Springs where they
competed in the Air Force Prep Tournament. The
Lady Conqs lost to Yavapai (0-3), won against Air Force
Prep (3-0) and lost to New Mexico Military Institute
(2-3) on Friday, October 7. They won against CCU
JV (3-0), but lost to Barton Country (0-3) on Saturday,
October 8.

Lady Conqs Have
Tough Time at Oz Fest Tournament posted

The Lady Conq
volleyball team went 1-3 over the weekend at the Oz Fest
Tournament hosted by Seward County Community College.
The Lady Conqs were swept by Seward County 3-1 and Frank
Phillips 3-2 on Friday, September 30. Dodge City
beat Vernon 3-0 before falling to Western Texas 3-1 on
Saturday, October 1. The Lady Conqs (4-5; 12-12)
will next play on Wednesday, October 5, when they take
on Barton County Community College (8-0; 15-6) at 6:30pm
in the DC3 Gym.

defeating two ranked opponents this week, the Lady
Conquistadors were unable to get past two top ten
opponents. Dodge City was swept by #8 Iowa Western
3-0 and #1 Western Nebraska 3-0.

Conquistador Volleyball team won both matches on day 1
of the NJC-Pizza Hut Classic. Dodge City swept
Trinidad State 3-0 in its 1st match. In match #2,
the Lady Conqs defeated the host, #11 Northeastern
Colorado, 3-2.
