Recruiting Report for '08
| March 27th, 2008 -
Canadian Setter, Danika Lucyshyn, signs a letter of
intent with the Lady Conqs for the 2008 season!

Coach Pohlman on Danika: "Flexible,
athletic, consistent, and determined. These are really
important traits to have as a setter, and I am thrilled to admit
these characteristics reside in our setter for the 2008 season!
Danika is a coachable athlete who can place the ball in a bucket
whizzing by at 90 mph! The thing I really like about
Danika is that she takes full accountability for her own
success. When I was looking at setters, I didn't want
someone who made a bunch of excuses. I knew we need
someone who was confident and persistent, but not arrogant and
stubborn...someone who can swallow their pride, but not tuck
their tail between their legs. Danika understands this
concept instinctively. It's a good day for our program
knowing there is a capable, confident, and hard-working "wheel-(wo)man"
ready to take on the challenges of a JUCO level setter
position!!" |

Megan Pierson from Gooding, Idaho signs a letter of
intent to play for DC3 next fall!
About Megan:
Whether she is nailing passes, acing
tests, or leaving opponents in her dust on the track, Megan
Pierson from Gooding, ID, probably has a smile on her face; of
course she has a lot to smile about:
In volleyball, she chalked up honors as
“Most Inspirational” her Freshman and Sophomore year. She
was 1st Team All-Conference as a Junior and Senior.
This year, as a senior, she had the privilege to play with
Southern Idaho's best athletes on the Magic Valley All-Star
Team.
Megan is a standout outside of the Magic Valley as well, and she
proved it by earning the NBC Volleyball Camp “MVP” award going
into her senior year.
As if that isn't enough, Megan shines in
the classroom which gave her the title of "Scholar Athlete” (in
Volleyball) her junior year and that's not all.
Academically, she has earned the
"Outstanding 4.0 GPA Award” three years running as a Freshman,
Sophomore, Junior, and currently going for the same award her
senior year!
Throughout
her high school career, Megan has also stood out on the track by
placing in the State Tournament in the medley relay (twice), the
4x100 relay, the 4x200 relay (twice), and the 4x400 relay.
She also earned the “Scholar Athlete” (Track) award her
Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Years.
Coach Pohlman on Megan: "Megan moves her feet well, is a great
reader on the hit and serve, and can dig almost anything you
give to her. Megan seems to be very comfortable with the
ball, which definitely helps her control. She makes an
excellent impact to our defensive element and will be battling
it out to get the libero position in the fall. I had the
luxury of coaching Megan in high school, and I am glad to bring
some Idaho roots to Kansas!" |

Liberal stand out, Janelle Burnett commits to the Lady Conqs by
signing a letter of intent!

Coach Pohlman on Janelle:
“Janelle is an extremely athletic player; probably, all around,
the most athletic that we will have next year. She is very
intense and focused and that is why she is so highly decorated.
(Earning many honors while at Liberal). She is an
incredibly smart hitter, who can put it in your face or catch
you on your heels with the tip or roll shot. Even though
she is 5'6" she is a firecracker who will jump higher than the
tallest players. She’s the type of person who puts
everything she has into it. She’s a hard worker and I can see
that in her 100 percent. She adds a different dynamic to
the program, and I am excited for next year, knowing that
dynamic will be on our side of the net!" |

Jordan Nettleingham honors her verbal commitment and signs with
Dodge City for next season!
Read Article Here!

Coach Pohlman on Jordan: "Jordan is, by
far, one of this state's best outside hitters! She makes an
absolutely huge impact on this program, and I am happy to know
we are heading closer to where we need to be for next year. She
has a heavy arm, and is smart and talented enough to go around
the block and tip when necessary. She has a sensational love for
the game, and that love, her hard work, and her abilities will
make her successful at this level, and when she moves on to the
next level. I am very grateful to know I have the
opportunity to coach such a great athlete!" |

coaching Shayla because her abilities coupled with her work
ethic is just what we need for our program...she is a very good

working with Shayla because she will accomplish a lot as an
individual and contribute to the team in a big way. She
