Season Preview
The
2010-11 Season saw the DCCC women’s golf team finish the year with three
members qualifying for the NJCAA Women’s National Tournament for the 9th
time at Daytona Beach, Florida. The 2010-2011 Season ended with three
individual KJCCC conference winners, Krystal Martinez, Rhiannon Downes
and Kimberly Schmaltz. Krystal Martinez was first team ALL-KJCCC.
The Lady Conqs finished 2nd to Barton
Community College in 2011, it’s the second time in five years that
Barton has won conference over Dodge City, the 2011-2012 team will have
more depth to compete and will have a high ranking, but a top 10 finish
at the National Tournament is far from automatic. Coach Bethea had
this to say "We are a young team, but we are deep talent wise. With only
one sophomore on the roster, weekly qualifying will be competitive this
year." The Top five spots will be at a premium each tournament when DC
opens up their spring season against Oklahoma Panhandle State.
The -2011-12 team will have six new additions,
Samantha Larrick, Jacie Scheer, Amy Stegman, Shanell Hensley, Paige
Bednorz, and Maurica Smith. The Lady Conqs will be competing to continue
the tradition as KJCCC conference champions.
