Tough Night For DC3 Basketball
Posted February 2, 2012
Last night both the women's and
the men's basketball teams struggled against the visiting Grizzlies from
Butler CC. The women had a hard time scoring, shooting only 23%
from the field on its way to a 69-37 loss. The Lady Grizzlies
pressured DC all night, forcing the Lady Conqs to put up tough shots.
The loss drops the Lady Conqs to 8-14 and 0-8 in the Jayhawk. The
men's game was a back and forth affair until the final seconds.
Throughout the game, the Conqs struggled from beyond the arc, shooting
5-26 from 3. With Butler up by 4 with less than a minute to go, Dodge
was called for 4 Technical Fouls, after Butler hit 6 of the 8 technical
free throws, the game was out of reach. The loss is the fourth in
a row for DC, and drops them to 15-7 overall and 3-5 in conference.
Both teams are back in action this Saturday vs. Hutch at The United
Wireless Arena. Game times are 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
Both Basketball Teams Lose on the
Road Posted January 30, 2012 The DC3 basketball teams continue to struggle on the road. Saturday night, the Lady Conqs fell by a score of 71-48 to the Lady Broncbusters of Garden City, and the men lost 77-69. Kalyn Williams led the women with 23 pts on 9-16 shooting. The men were led by Tyshon Pickett who recorded a double-double with 22 pts and 10 reb. Both teams will be in back in action this Wednesday vs. Butler at the United Wireless Arena. Women tip off at 5:30 pm with the men to follow. Lady Conqs and Conqs Struggle In Losses to Seward County
Posted January 23, 2012
With a big crowd in attendance at the Dodge City Civic Center, things didn't go as planned and Seward County came in and took both games on a tough night. In the girls game, Seward jumped out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back. The Lady Conqs continued to play hard, but fell 89-44 to move them to 8-12 overall and 0-6 in the Jayhawk. Kalyn Williams led DC with 14 points on the night. The men's game was a back and forth game the whole night. Seward led for most of the 1st half but Dodge was able to cut into the lead and go into the locker room at halftime only down 42-40. During the 2nd half, both teams continued to play well, but every time the Conqs made a run, Seward County had an answer, and went on to win by a score of 81-75. RJ McGhee led all scorers with 23 pts, while Tramel White (20 Pts, 10 Reb) and Tyshon Pickett (16 Pts, 10 Reb) both had double-doubles. The loss drops the Conqs into 5th place in the Jayhawk with a 3-3 record, but are still 15-5 overall.
Conq Basketball Loses Both On The Road
Posted January 19th 2012
When it comes to Jayhawk Conference Basketball, life on the road can be tough. The Conqs found that out the hard way last night. The Lady Conqs fell to a tough Cloud County team 82-49, while the men struggled in the 1st half and could not overcome the early deficit losing 84-79. With the losses, the women fall to 8-11, and 0-5 in conference. The men now sit at 15-4, and 3-2 in conference. Both teams will be back in action this Saturday, Jan. 21st against Seward County at the Civic Center. Game times are set for 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm.

Villa Scores
28 As Lady
Conqs Come
Up Short
Posted
January 12,
2012
The Lady
Conqs never
lead in the
game and
were down by
8 at the
half against
Colby
Community
College.
They also
were down by
23 before
Jazmin Villa
caught on

in a row to
wittle the
lead down to
3.
Villa had
five

the game,
all in the
second half.
However,
that still
wasn't
enough to

A big part
of their
success was
shutting
down Lady
